Seacourt Avenue, Dudley
Living Room Concept Design
Project Summary
Located in the coastal suburb of Dudley in Lake Macquarie, this family home sits on a spacious block with native bushland and ocean views. With generous natural light and timber flooring throughout the living spaces, the home has strong potential for transformation.
This interior design concept forms part of a broader renovation — both internal and external — with a focus on modernising the façade and updating key interior spaces, including the living room and main bathroom.
Project Goals:
Redesign the living area and bathroom with a contemporary yet timeless style
Introduce an earthy, coastal-inspired aesthetic using natural textures and tones
Improve the functionality of the layout where needed
Prioritise sustainable, durable materials that enhance comfort and longevity
The result is a warm, inviting space that reflects the home's surroundings and supports relaxed, sustainable living on the coast.

Sustainable Materials and Ethical Design Choices
Sustainability is a core value in this design, with all materials, finishes, and furnishings carefully selected for their environmental responsibility, local sourcing, and low-toxicity.
Some key selections include:
The living room furniture has been sourced from Jardan Furniture, who are an Australian company renowned for their ethical and sustainable practices.
The timber joinery will be made locally by Laughlin furniture, using Blackbutt timber, which is a fast growing sustainably sourced Australian eucalyptus hardwood.
The walls will be painted in a natural lime based paint by Bauwerk, which has zero VOCs and is made from natural renewable resources.
The natural linen roman blind and cushions selected for the living room are made by Ink and Spindle and are hand printed using water based, organic certified inks.
The Fibonacci Terrazzo used in the bathroom is composed of 75% up-cycled material and is 100% recyclable.
The basin in the bathroom is made by Robert Gordon, an Australian family owned company. It is made from recycled clay and they also use solar assisted firing.
The carpet in the living room is made by Bremworth from 100% New Zealand wool and it’s 100% biodegradable.
