Interior Design FAQ’s

  • Healthy interior design focuses on creating spaces that promote physical and mental well-being through thoughtful material choices, natural elements, and functional layouts. It prioritises good indoor air quality by using non-toxic, low-VOC paints and finishes, as well as natural, breathable materials.

Maximising natural light, incorporating plants, and ensuring proper ventilation contribute to a healthier environment, while ergonomic furniture and well-planned layouts support comfort and movement.

Acoustic considerations, calming colour palettes, and biophilic design principles further enhance relaxation and reduce stress. Ultimately, healthy interior design aims to create aesthetically pleasing spaces that nurture well-being and sustainability

  • The answer will vary from person to person, but at its core, it reflects a commitment to sustainability and minimising environmental impact. For some, this means choosing natural finishes to reduce toxicity or opting for locally sourced or second-hand furniture. For others, it involves carefully evaluating every selection to ensure it is both sustainably and ethically made.

Sustainability doesn’t have to mean great expense or exclusivity; it’s about making more conscious choices at a level and to an extent that works for you.

  • As a Charlestown based designer I serve locations within a 45-minute drive, including Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, and Maitland. If you live further afield, I may still be able to assist you, so please get in touch to discuss further.

  • All projects begin with a free 20-minute call, where we can chat and determine if we’re a good fit for each other.

If you decide to proceed, we’ll move on to the Initial Design Consultation —the starting point for all projects. This is a paid, two-hour consultation, conducted either face-to-face or via Zoom, where I’ll gain a deeper understanding of your project. The consultation fee is $240 AUD.

Following this, I’ll prepare a custom fee proposal for the project based on the scope of work.
